About Saltera Materials

Architectural Salt Surfaces from Siwa

Saltera Materials supplies natural salt surfaces designed for hospitality, residential, and architectural projects.

Our materials are produced in Siwa, Egypt — a region known for its vast salt lakes, mineral-rich formations, and long-standing connection to salt craftsmanship.

We work with both raw-cut and engineered salt materials, offering solutions that combine natural texture, light interaction, and architectural usability.

A Material Designed for Atmosphere

Salt behaves differently from conventional surfaces.

By day, it appears clean, textured, and mineral-like.
With light, it transforms into a warm, immersive surface that changes the atmosphere of a space entirely.

This unique interaction between material and light makes salt especially suited for:

  • Hospitality interiors
  • Spa & wellness environments
  • Feature walls
  • Boutique hotels
  • High-end residential projects

Two Material Philosophies

Built Between Egypt and Europe

Saltera Materials was initiated by a German founder living between Europe and Egypt, after discovering the architectural potential of Siwa’s salt materials through local workshops and hospitality projects.

Founded through direct collaboration between local production in Egypt and an internationally oriented business structure, the company combines on-site material sourcing and manufacturing with experience in international business development, branding, and hospitality-focused positioning.

The goal is to transform a locally known material into a scalable solution for international architectural and hospitality applications — bridging traditional craftsmanship with the requirements of modern projects.

Looking Forward

We believe architectural materials should do more than cover surfaces.

They should shape atmosphere, create memory, and give spaces a distinct identity.

Saltera Materials exists to bring a rare natural material into contemporary architecture in a scalable and usable way.
